FamilyBasedYouthMinistryYesterday, I summarized Family-Based Youth Ministry by Mark DeVries. Today I will share some of my response.

DeVries points out what I think is a common weakness in modern youth ministry - the isolation of the youth from the family and the rest of the church. That’s not so say I agree with everything DeVries has to say. In fact, let me start with some things I didn’t like about the book.

FamilyBasedYouthMinistryFamily-Based Youth Ministry, by Mark DeVries, argues for a strategy in youth ministry that involves the family. DeVries points out weaknesses in modern strategies of youth ministry and offers his own suggestions to overcome these weaknesses.

I will summarize DeVries main thrust (mainly by quoting him) in this article. Later, I will offer a response.
